Hoyas Place Sixth After First Day of Yale Invitational

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's golf team finished in sixth place with a 36-hole score of 32-over par 600 after the first two rounds of the Yale Invitational. The Hoyas carded rounds of 305 and 295 at the Yale Golf Course par 71 5,972 yards. 

HOYA RESULTS

  • Junior Lauren May is GU's top scorer as she finished in fourth place with scores of 68 and 71.

  • Freshman Sophie Dalfonsi carded scores of  81 and 73 in rounds one and two. 

  • Sophomore Megan Gormley carded a total score of 155 through rounds one and two. 

  • Senior Kaityln Lees is tied for 34th place carding scores of 78 and 76.

  • Junior Elena Zheng carded scores of 79 and 77. 

TOURNAMENT LEADERS

  • Boston College is in first place (+5, 573), Boston University is in second place (+11, 579) followed by the host Bulldogs (+12, 580) to round out the top three.

  • The Hoyas finished rounds one and two behind UPenn (+24, 592) and two strokes ahead of Harvard (+34, 602).

UP NEXT

After the completion of the final round of the Yale Invitational the Blue & Gray will continue on to the Blue Hen Invitational the weekend of October 16-17.
