WASHINGTON – The long-awaited debut of Georgetown University's squash team has arrived as the Hoyas play their first matches as a varsity sport this weekend in Annapolis, Maryland. Georgetown, ranked No. 27 in the College Squash Association's preseason poll, takes on No. 26 Haverford on Saturday at 5 p.m. and No. 28 Denison on Sunday at noon.

Tim Lasusa said. "The team has worked extremely hard getting ready for the program's debut and we finally get to see the fruits of their labor this weekend."
Hoya Notes
- Squash is the 30th varsity sport sponsored by Georgetown.
- The Hoyas were the top-ranked club program during the 2019-20 campaign before the inaugural varsity season was delayed a year because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Tim Lasusa was named the program's inaugural head coach in August.
- Nine players from the club program returned to bolster the Hoya roster for its first varsity season.
Scouting Haverford
- Haverford is ranked No. 26 in the CSA preseason poll.
- The Fords opened their season with a 7-2 victory over Swarthmore on October 28.
- Haverford won each of the 2-8 positions with Swarthmore claiming flights one and nine.
- All but one of Haverford's wins were three-game sweeps.
- The Fords take on Denison earlier in the day at noon prior to facing the Hoyas.
Scouting Denison
- Denison is ranked No. 28 in the CSA preseason poll.
- The Big Red is 1-1 on the season after a 5-2 victory over Chatham and a 7-2 loss to William Smith.
- Denison plays Haverford on Saturday in Annapolis before Sunday's match against Georgetown.
Next Time Out
Following the opening weekend's matches, the Hoyas return to action on December 4-5 for four matches in Charlottesville, Virginia.
