WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's volleyball team wrapped up the home portion of its 2021 schedule with a 3-1 (19-25, 25-6, 25-13, 25-19) victory over visiting Providence in BIG EAST action on Senior Day. The Hoyas improve to 7-20 overall and 3-13 in league play while the Friars fall to 15-14 overall and 3-13 in the conference.
"Lara, Brennan, Elissa, Jess and Makana all showed out tonight," Head Coach
David Heller said about his senior class. "They did a really great job of creating energy and capitalizing on our service pressure. Our block really came alive and it was great to see so many players with double-digit digs. Makana was a beast in the back row. Brennan provided some much-needed offense to the middle to help give our pin hitters some relief. Elissa had an amazing match and the double-double proves that. I'm really proud of the resiliency that they showed coming off of last night's match and taking tonight with a new mindset. The underclassmen did a great job of making sure that our seniors felt supported throughout the entire match and tonight really was a total team win."
