Michael Baldini broke his own school record in the 100 fly while
Erin Hood smashed the 400 IM record as the Hoyas had a productive all-around performance on the second day of the Terrier Invitational, hosted by Boston University on Friday.
Baldini's time of 48.89 won the event and broke his 2020 BIG EAST Championship meet time by 0.03 seconds. Hood scored a 4:21.8 in the preliminaries to break
Phoebe Slaughter's 2018 record by over two seconds.
Overall, the men's team has 1023 total points and sits in second place behind only Boston College with 1182 points. The women's squad remains in fourth place with 577.5 points and sits ahead of both UMass and Fairfield.
Hoya Highlights
- The Hoyas have snapped a trio of program records through two days with Hood breaking a pair of them.
- Hood also matched Boston University's Ashley Scafetta with a 1:04.69 mark in the 100 breast, good for third.
- Will Barao took home the gold in the 200 freestyle, while teammate Drew Carbone snagged the 100 back.
- Georgetown swept 1-2 in the 400 IM with Jack Januario and Jack Brearton battling for the top spot on the podium.
- Genevieve Youngman earned a third-place finish in the 100 fly with a time of 55.27.
- In the 200 medley relay, the men and women's squads reached the podium with respective second and third-place finishes.
- The teams flipped podium spots in the 800 free relay with the women capturing second place while the men grabbed third.

The Hoyas return to action on Sunday with the 1,650 freestyle, 200 backstroke, 100 freestyle, 200 breaststroke, 200 butterfly and 400 freestyle relay. Preliminary races begin at 10 a.m. with the finals starting at 5 p.m. Links to live scoring and video of the finals events can be found on
