WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's volleyball team dropped a BIG EAST rematch 3-0 (28-26, 25-17, 25-21) on the road at UConn on Friday night. The Hoyas split the season series against the Huskies and fall to 6-19 overall and 2-12 in BIG EAST action while UConn improves to 18-8 overall and 10-4 in league play.
"We had a pretty strong serving and passing night," Head Coach
David Heller said. "Unfortunately, we gave a lot of momentum to UConn at the end of set one. We came out a bit flat in set two and struggled to recover. Our block really showed out tonight though. The work John [La Rusch] has been doing with our play at the net has been really great for our future development. Susan [Kim] called some great zones for our servers too. We've got some work to do with scoring points in transition still. Jess proved again to be a consistent source of ball control tonight. We have two tough weekends left in conference play and I love the grit the team is still showing now."
