ABOUT THE HOYAS
  • The Hoyas are coming off a 79-75 win that saw the Blue & Gray erase a 10-point halftime deficit against longtime rival Syracuse on Saturday. It capped a 2-0 week for GU, also boasting a 100-71 win over UMBC in a midweek matchup.
  • Against Syracuse, Aminu Mohammed registered his fourth double-double of the season, recording a season-high 23 points and 13 rebounds. Mohammed added five assists, two steals and a pair of blocks to his final line. Donald Carey was second on the team with 18 points, followed by Kaiden Rice (15) and Collin Holloway (10). Dante Harris paced the offense with a game-best six assists to go along with seven points and six rebounds.

Kaiden Rice earned a spot on the Honor Roll for his 24.5 ppg in the 2-0 week, including his record-setting 10 triples against UMBC. He provided a last-minute dagger against Cuse as he sank his fifth trey of the game with just over a minute left in regulation, giving the Hoyas a lead they would not relinquish.
  • Mohammed's 15.1 ppg leads a quartet of Hoyas in double figures, followed by Rice (14.6), Harris (13.1) and Carey (12.8). The reigning BIG EAST Freshman of the Week is also the team's rebounding leader, grabbing 8.7 rpg and against the Orange, tallied his BE-best fourth double-double of the season. His back-to-back double-doubles against UMBC and SU are the first for a Hoya since Chudier Bile last season (2/27/21, 3/2/21).
  • Carey's 96.7 shooting percentage from the charity stripe ranks third in the nation. Also ranking among the country's best, Rice sits second nationally with 4.33 treys per game behind Kentucky's Oscar Tshiebwe while holding the fifth-best mark with 39 triples.
