WASHINGTON – Freshman
Tyler Beard led five in double figures with a season-high 23 points to help the Georgetown University men's basketball team knock off Howard 85-73 at Capital One Arena on Wednesday evening. With the win, the Hoyas improve to 6-4 on the season while the Bison are even at 5-5.

HOYA HIGHLIGHTS
- Tyler Beard registered 23 points on 7-of-9 shooting from the floor and 3-of-4 from distance. The freshman also recorded four rebounds, two assists and a steal in his 30 minutes off the bench. Beard tallied 13 of his 23 points in the second half, making all three shots from the field as well as six made free throws.
- Malcolm Wilson logged a career-high 13 points and eight rebounds while matching his personal best with four blocks. The Hoya center went a perfect 6-for-6 from the floor and 1-for-2 at the line.
- Collin Holloway put forth his third double-digit scoring performance of the season with 15 points on 5-of-7 shooting from the floor and 5-for-6 performance from the charity stripe. The sophomore added five rebounds to his final line.
- Donald Carey recorded 14 points and eight boards against Howard, shooting 4-of-7 from deep and hitting a pair from the line.
- Dante Harris dished out a game-high seven assists to go along with 10 points, three steals and a pair of rebounds.
- Georgetown shot 55.2 percent from the floor (32-58) while hitting seven triples, while holding the Bison to 41.0 percent (25-61) shooting.
- The Blue & Gray outrebounded the Bison 41-30 and registered eight blocks to HU's four.
- The Hoyas outscored Howard in the paint (44-20) and off the bench (29-3).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Wilson slammed home the team's first bucket for the second-consecutive game before the Hoyas went on an 8-0 run to take a 13-7 lead.
- Holloway ended the Bison run at the midway point of the first on a completed three-point play before Wilson scored six-straight points in the paint as part of a Hoya 15-2 run to take a 37-33 lead with 4:23 remaining in the half.
- Georgetown scored seven unanswered points down the stretch and took a 46-39 advantage into the break.
- Carey drew a foul and drained a triple to open the second half before completing the four-point play and giving the Blue & Gray an 11-point edge, 50-39.
- Beard registered seven points while Holloway tallied six on a 16-4 Hoya run over a five-minute span to take the 72-56 lead with under 10 minutes to play.
- Down the stretch, GU held a double-digit lead for the majority of the final 10 minutes before the 85-73 score at the final whistle.
OF NOTE
- The Hoyas moved to 11-0 all-time against the Bison.
- Georgetown recorded its fifth game of the season with four or more players in double figures, remaining undefeated (5-0) in such contests.
