Hoyas Host George Washington on Thursday

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's basketball team will host the George Washington University Colonials in a nonconference matchup on Thursday evening at 7 p.m. at McDonough Arena.

About the Hoyas
  • Georgetown is coming off of a 1-1 weekend to open BIG EAST Conference play. GU fell to Creighton 64-38 on Friday, but bounced back with a solid 55-47 victory at Providence on Sunday.
  • In the win at Providence, Kelsey Ransom registered a season-high 21 points to go along with four boards, a team-high four assists and three steals. The sophomore shot 11-for-15 from the free throw line and drew 10 fouls in her 39 minutes of action.
  • Junior Graceann Bennett chipped in 12 points on 5-of-8 shooting from the floor while pulling down a team-high six rebounds and swatting a pair of shots.
  • Senior Jillian Archer added seven points and five rebounds while sophomore Yasmin Ott and graduate student Milan Bolden-Morris tallied six points apiece.
  • The Hoyas boast four players in double figures for the season as Ransom leads the way with 12.3 ppg. Bolden-Morris has 11.8 ppg, while Bennett and Archer round out the top four averaging 8.4 and 7.9 ppg, respectively.
  • Archer is also pulling down a squad-best 8.1 rpg.
  • Georgetown has a pair of home games coming up to finish off nonconference play.
About the Colonials
  • George Washington is 5-4 on the season and coming off of a 62-53 loss to Virginia on Sunday.
  • After her 26-point performance against Virginia last Sunday, Nya Lok is quickly proving herself as a go-to option for GW's offense.
  • Since returning to the lineup on Nov. 26, Lok is averaging a team-high 11.3 points per game.
  • Lok's offensive success against JMU and Virginia last week earned her recognition from the Atlantic 10 Conference, as she was named to the weekly honor roll.
  • After a three-game win streak, GWU has lost two of its last three contests including a 54-50 victory over James Madison and the loss to UVA.

  • The Hoyas are 18-20 all-time against the Colonials and 11-7 at home.
  • The last meeting was a 52-49 Hoya loss at the Smith Center during the 2019-20 campaign.

All Georgetown women's basketball home matches are currently scheduled to be played at McDonough Arena.
