WASHINGTON – The Georgetown women's lacrosse team made a late comeback, but it wasn't enough as the Hoyas fell 15-11 to the No. 25 Denver University Pioneers on Friday evening in the first of a two-game series at Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium. With the loss, the Hoyas drop to 3-4 overall and 2-1 in BIG EAST Conference play, while the Pioneers improve to 5-1 overall and 3-0 in league play.
Head Coach Ricky Fried
- "We had some spurts of really good lacrosse, but we had lapses both physically and mentally and when you're playing against a team the caliber of Denver you need to be consistent. We are capable of playing at a high level, but if we go out there and don't do what we need, they will capitalize on our mistakes."
