WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University baseball team dropped a tough 4-2 decision to Creighton on Saturday afternoon in a BIG EAST Conference matchup. With the loss, the Hoyas slip to 3-8 overall and 3-6 in league play, while the Bluejays improve to 14-7 on the season and 6-0 in conference action.

HOYA HIGHLIGHTS

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Hoyas opened the scoring in the bottom of the third inning as a McCabe walk and Lotsis single put runners on the corner. Ciufo reached on an infield single as McCabe scored, and Lotsis crossed the plate a batter later on an error to put GU up 2-0.
  • Creighton answered right back with two runs in the top of the fourth to tie the score.
  • The Bluejays took the lead with a run in the sixth inning behind a hit batter, two walks and an error. A solo home run in the eighth provided the final 4-2 score.
  • Georgetown looked to rally, putting the leadoff man on in each of the seventh and eighth innings, and another man on in the ninth, but could not push across the tying runs.
