Men’s Soccer Releases 2021 Schedule Presented by MedStar Health

WASHINGTON – Georgetown University Men's Soccer Head Coach Brian Wiese announced the 2021 schedule presented by MedStar Health on Wednesday. The slate consists of three exhibitions and 17 regular season contests including 12 contests on the Hilltop which will begin in mid-August.

Georgetown will face seven teams that appeared in the most recent NCAA Tournament including four that finished the season ranked among the top 25. The Blue & Gray advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals a season ago and finished the spring 2021 campaign ranked No. 2 in the nation.

The Hoyas will travel to Penn State for an exhibition match on August 14 before hosting American and Virginia Tech on August 17th and 21st to close out the preseason.

Georgetown's first regular season contest will be a matchup against UC Irvine at Shaw Field on August 26 before following up with Fordham at home on August 29.

The Blue & Gray will head out on the road for a matchup at Syracuse on September 3, but will return to the Hilltop on Labor Day to face Santa Clara.
September 11 will bring a huge matchup between the Hoyas and Maryland at Shaw Field. A road contest at Temple (September 14) and a home game against Dartmouth (September 25) will finish up nonconference play.

As BIG EAST Conference play begins, the Blue & Gray will face five opponents at home including DePaul (October 2), Butler (October 9), Villanova (October 16), St. John's (October 20) and UConn (November 3).

The Hoyas will hit the road traveling to Creighton (September 18), Seton Hall (October 6), Providence (October 13), Xavier (October 23) and Marquette (October 30).

The BIG EAST Championship will be played at home sites, with the higher seed hosting. The top six teams in the league will qualify for the championship with the top two seeds earning a first round bye. The first round is scheduled for Nov. 6, while the semifinals will be played on Nov. 11. The championship game is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 14.

New this year, all BIG EAST men's soccer conference games as well as select nonconference games will be available on the BIG EAST Digital Network (BEDN) presented by SoFi which will be available on FloSports. Additionally, the contest at Seton Hall on October 6, a matchup of last year's BIG EAST Championship, will be broadcast live on FS1. All tournament games will be available on BEDN which the championship game running live on FS2.
