Georgetown Sailing Continues Strong Fall Season

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University sailing team continued its strong fall season with a trio of meets last weekend. Highlighted by a pair of second-place finishes in Ithaca, New York, the Hoyas also finished second at the MAISA Match Race Championships in Annapolis.

ON THE RECORD
"The combined Top 9 is a great marker to see how you stack up against the rest of the conference. We finished second in both events but we won the combined event so we are happy with the result. We had a few bad stretches of races throughout the weekend so we need to improve before we enter the heart of the fall season. I was particularly pleased with the performance of Riley Kloc and Addi Harris who won the women's  A division. They were consistently faster than everyone else and made great decisions on the race course." - Head Coach Michael J. Callahan on the Top 9

"For the match racing team, a second-place finish will hopefully be good enough for an at-large selection to the national championship. We had a few tough losses early so we had about three must-win races in a row and the team did just that. In the finals against Navy, we had our chances to win but just didn't capitalize on it. Hopefully with some more practice, we will get better." - Callahan on the MAISA Match Race Championships
