WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's volleyball team continues its BIG EAST homestand of five home matches in six league contests as it welcomes Butler and Xavier to the Nation's Capital this weekend. The Hoyas will take on the Bulldogs on Friday at 5 p.m. before battling the Musketeers on Saturday at 3 p.m.

About the Hoyas
- Georgetown is 4-9 on the season after dropping a pair of matches to open the BIG EAST portion of its schedule last weekend.
- Mary Grace Goyena leads the Hoyas with 2.88 kills per set and Giselle Williams adds 2.62 kps as the only Hoyas with at least two kills a frame.
- Emma Plutnicki quarterbacks the offense with 7.46 assists per set while Lilly Costigan has been impressive in relief with 7.47 aps in six matches.
- The Hoyas boast a strong presence at the net, as Chanelle Smith averages 1.21 blocks per set while Brennan Wilhite and Makayla Serrett are both just shy of one rejection a frame at 0.97 bps.
- Jessica Cusi anchors the back row as one of five Hoyas averaging at least two digs a frame with 4.16 a set. Barbosa adds 2.65 dps, Plutnicki chips in 2.33 dps, Makana Meyer is good for 2.29 dps and Kelly Chen chimes in with 2.10 dps.
Scouting Butler
- Butler is 7-8 overall on the season and 1-1 in BIG EAST play after defeating Providence and falling to Creighton last weekend.
- Melody Davison leads the Bulldogs with 4.31 kills per set, Mariah Grunze adds 3.16 kps, Brittany Robinson chips in 2.35 kps and Amina Shackleford is good for an even 2.00 kps.
- Madison Friebel averages 9.90 assists per set to pace the Butler offense.
- Defensively, Davidson averages 1.05 blocks per set and Jaymeson Kinley averages an impressive 5.29 digs per set in the back row.
Scouting Xavier
- Xavier is 6-6 overall on the year and 1-1 in BIG EAST play after defeating Providence and falling to Creighton last weekend.
- The Musketeers play at Villanova on Friday night before heading down to the District to face the Hoyas.
- Emma Grace leads XU with 3.00 kills per set while Kelly Franxman (2.42), Delaney Hogan (2.26) and Moriah Hopkins (2.14) each add at least two kills a frame.
- Carrigan O'Reilly averages 9.38 assists per set to pace the Xavier offense.
- Defensively, Stevie Wolf anchors the back row with 3.24 digs per set while Grace adds 4.18. At the net, Hogan is good for 0.93 blocks per set and Ellie Chaffee is just behind her with 0.90 bps.
Side Out
Following the weekend, the Hoyas play their BIG EAST road game at Villanova on Wednesday at 7 p.m. before returning home to host UConn on Saturday at 5 p.m.
