Coach Heller's Reflections on the Saint Peter's Match
"I'm really proud of the way we responded today. Our seniors did a great job leading us on the court. Elissa and Makana hit for a high percentage from all over. Jess was owning the defensive effort and putting our hitters in a great position to score when we were out of system. Lara [Adekunle] saw action back on the court and had a great hitting night. The biggest bonus today was Minnie having a career performance on her birthday! She was locked in and got us out of some struggle situations. This was a team win today."
Saint Peter's Notes
- Alanis Alvarado led the Peacocks with 11 kills.
- Angeleyshka Curbelo collected 14 digs.
- Saint Peter's only hit positive in one set, a meager 0.48 in the second frame.
Coach Heller's Reflections on the St. Francis Match
"We had a great last match of the tournament. Our depth was a great attribute in the last match. Abby and Karis provided service pressure. Brennan and Chanelle came up big in sets three, four, and five offensively. Brennan's presence at the net gave their fast offense some grief and allowed us to transition for some big points. Jess was solid all tournament and is proving to be a great rock for the team when needed. It's never easy coming back from two sets down, but this team has a lot of heart and our depth really showed today when we needed it."
St. Francis Notes
- Madi Tyas led the Red Flash with 23 kills and 14 digs for a double-double while Nicole Adams added 21 kills.
- Kimmy Sweeney also posted a double-double with 54 assists and 16 digs.
- Defensively, Maggie Means had 19 digs and Skye Eicher chipped in 10.
- At the net, Sophie Rice was credited with seven blocks.
