WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University men's basketball team fell 72-58 to the visiting Butler University Bulldogs on Thursday evening at Capital One Arena. With the setback, the Hoyas are 6-7 overall with a 0-2 mark in BIG EAST action while Butler improves to 9-6 with a 2-2 BIG EAST record.

HOYA HIGHLIGHTS
- Tyler Beard finished with a team-high 15 points and went 6-of-7 from the free throw line. The guard added a game-high five assists to go along with four rebounds and a steal.
- Collin Holloway scored 11 points on 3-of-6 shooting from the floor and 4-of-5 from the line.
- Timothy Ighoefe returned after missing the previous six games, pulling down a game-high nine rebounds in nearly 16 minutes of work.
- Ryan Mutombo and Jalin Billingsley recorded identical eight-point, six-rebound performances for the Hoyas.
- Despite the loss, the Hoyas held the advantage in the paint (30-24) and on the glass (41-40).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Holloway and Rice each drained a triple to open the game on a 6-0 run.
- Billingsley scored four of six Hoya unanswered points at the midway point of the half to take a 16-14 edge (10:00).
- Beard sank five-straight shots from the charity stripe to put the Hoyas ahead by four, 25-21, but a late rally left the Blue & Gray trailing by five at the break (32-27).
- Holloway muscled his way to the basket for an and-one, completing the three-point play and pulling the score to 43-31 (16:49).
- The Hoyas cut into the Butler lead with a 9-2 run through the midway point of the half, 55-42 (8:38).
- Georgetown went on a late 6-0 run (1:43) before the Bulldogs picked up the 72-58 victory.
