WASHINGTON – With competitions scheduled for the coming days, all Georgetown University indoor on-campus intercollegiate athletics events will be played with no fans in attendance for the month on January due to the emergence and rapid spread of the Omicron variant of COVID-19 in the Washington, D.C., region, across the country, and globally.
Fans will not be allowed for competitions held in Georgetown facilities, including women's basketball and men's and women's swimming & diving. Fans can attend competitions held off-campus at Capital One Arena as well as Squash on Fire while following public health measures required by the venue.
University public health officials continue to monitor the trajectory of the pandemic, and will share further updates as they become available.
