Swimming & Diving to Visit Villanova on Saturday

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University swimming & diving team will head to the Keystone State to face BIG EAST foe Villanova on Saturday, October 29. Diving events are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. while the swimming events are slated for noon. 

HOYA NOTES
  • The men's team picked up its second decisive win in as many weeks, knocking off NJIT 200-94 behind a plethora of individual wins and several podium sweeps.
  • Tristan Gess, Kyle Maziarz, Hriday Parekh and Charlie Reichle cleared the podium in both 1m and 3m dives on Saturday.
  • Women's swimmers Alex Breuer, Erin Hood and Sophia Ribeiro put forth dominant weekends against UConn. 
  • Hood and Ribeiro were half of the winning 400-yard free relay team while Ribeiro picked up an individual win in the 200 free. Breuer and Hood were also recognized by BIG EAST as notable performers for their success in the 100 and 200 breast events.

MEET NOTES
  • Last season, the men's team picked up the win against Nova (182-112) at McCarthy Pool while the women were narrowly edged (154-137).
  • The Hoyas combined for 17 wins and 21 second-place finishes in the dual meet.
  • The women's team has come close to knocking off the defending BIG EAST Champions and will look for their first win over the Wildcats this weekend.
