WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's volleyball team returns to the court for a pair of BIG EAST matches this week, hosting Villanova on Wednesday to close out a three-match homestand before traveling to take on Butler on Friday.

About the Hoyas
Scouting Villanova
- Wednesday's action against the Wildcats is set for 5 p.m. on the Hilltop and is Georgetown's lone home midweek match of the season.
- Villanova is 5-11 on the season, 1-3 in BIG EAST play, and is coming off of a weekend split in league games against Seton Hall and St. John's.
- Rose Crist leads VU with 2.88 kills per set while Riley Homer (2.60), Kathleen Johnson (2.05) and Kiera Booth (2.05) each add at least two kills a frame.
- Belle Morgan and Andrea Campos split setting duties and average 6.16 and 4.84 assists per set, respectively.
- Defensively, Elizabeth Feczko anchors the back row with 3.09 digs per set. Izzy Plummer is the top threat at the net averaging 1.03 blocks a stanza.
- Georgetown and Villanova have faced each other 62 times in program history dating back to 1982. The Wildcats own a narrow 32-30 all-time record in the series but the Hoyas won the last meeting 3-2 in 2021.
Scouting Butler
- Friday's showdown with the Bulldogs is set for 7 p.m.
- Butler is 7-9 on the season and is also 1-3 in BIG EAST play with a win over DePaul.
- Mariah Grunze leads BU with 3.31 kills per set while Amina Shackelford and Megan Sheridan add 2.61 and 2.52 kps, respectively.
- Cora Taylor paces the offense with 9.18 assists a frame.
- Defensively, Jaymeson Kinley averages 5.50 digs per set while Marisa Giusti's 1.09 blocks per set is tops at the net.
- Georgetown and Butler have played 15 times with the Bulldogs holding a 12-3 series advantage. The Hoyas most recently swept Butler in both matches during the 2018 campaign.
