Volleyball Defeats Villanova 3-1 in Midweek BIG EAST Showdown

WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's volleyball team claimed another BIG EAST victory with a 3-1 (25-21, 25-22, 13-25, 25-16) win over visiting Villanova in BIG EAST action on Wednesday. The Hoyas improve to 4-12 overall and 2-3 in league play while the Wildcats fall to 5-12 overall and 1-4 in BIG EAST action.

"We had a lot of fun in McDonough tonight," Head Coach David Heller said. "In practice this week, we worked really hard at scoring points after long rallies and it really paid off. Peyton took some amazing swings and hit for a high percentage which helped bail us out of some tough situations. Brennan was really active and created some amazing opportunities for us by getting them out of system. Our service pressure really helped our block to get some great touches. Emma ran a great offense tonight that was really evenly distributed. She played some great defense tonight and Karis took command to put up some great out of system sets to our pin hitters. Chanelle was a force at the net with her five blocks. I'm just really proud of what this team is doing to battle for each other every time we step on the court. Now we get a good road test at Butler. We are ready to keep moving in the BIG EAST."
