About the Hoyas
  • Georgetown (4-4-2, 2-1-0 BIG EAST) won a wild one on Wednesday evening as the Hoyas held on for the 3-2 victory over the Butler University Bulldogs at the Sellick Bowl.
  • It took just 15 seconds for the first goal of the game as sophomore Kieran Sargeant sent a ball to the back post to junior Kyle Linhares who sent it in to put the Hoyas on top 1-0. However, Butler answered right back.
  • Butler took the lead in the 18th minute, but the Hoyas came back as sophomore Blaine Mabie scored his first-career goal on a ball from Jacob Murrell to tie the game at two in the 22nd minute of action.
  • In the 73rd minute, junior Trevor Burns took it down the left side and slid it to the center of the box. He found a charging Marlon Tabora who expertly finished into the back of the net to make it 3-2 in favor of the Blue & Gray.
  • On Monday, junior goalkeeper Ryan Schewe was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll when the BIG EAST Conference announced its weekly awards.
  • In a 1-0 win over Bowling Green, Schewe made a save on all three of the shots he faced to notch a clean sheet.
  • A pair of freshmen lead the way for the Blue & Gray as Murrell boasts nine points (3G, 3A) and Jack Panayotou has eight points on the season with three goals and two assists.
About the Blue Demons
  • DePaul is 3-3-4 overall and 0-1-2 in BIG EAST play. The Blue Demons are looking to get their first conference win of the season on Saturday.
  • On Wednesday evening, the Blue Demons fought to a 0-0 draw with Seton Hall.
  • DePaul's last victory was a 3-2 win at the University of Illinois-Chicago on September 20. The Blue Demons have also defeated Bucknell (2-0) and Oakland (1-0) this season.
  • Cade Hagan and Marek Gonda lead the way for DePaul with four points apiece.
