WASHINGTON – The No. 19/11 Georgetown women's soccer team clinched a 3-0 win over Seton Hall on Sunday afternoon on Shaw Field. The Hoyas rise to 9-1-4 overall and 5-0-1 in the BIG EAST. Seton Hall falls to 5-7-2 overall, 1-5 in conference.
Head Coach Dave Nolan
"I was happy we were able to get the win after coming off a tiring game against Xavier on Thursday. We needed to start hot-and-heavy and we secured the result by halftime. With it being senior day there is always a lot of emotion going into the day. Sometimes it's a great thing, sometimes it's a distraction, but I give the kids credit they did what they needed to do. The big plus was that we were able to rest a couple kids who were injured, get some kids valuable playing time, and we set ourselves up with four conference games to go. We have one at home, three on the road so it is not going to be easy. Starting with a road trip up to Villanova on Thursday, we are focused on that. It was a great senior day for these women who put their heart and soul into this program so I am happy they will be able to celebrate over some Georgetown Cupcakes later tonight."
About the Match

- In the 12th minute Georgetown had a handful of players in the Seton Hall box after a corner was sent in by Maya Fernandez-Powell. The ball popped around the six-yard box with a shot by Maya Alcantara deflecting off a defender and Julia Leas was able to smash the ball in the back of the SHU net.
- Less than five minutes later, Tatum Lenain slipped a ball through to Gia Vicari who hit a ball across the six, past the keeper, to double the Hoyas' lead (2-0).
- The Blue & Gray didn't let up and in the 32nd minute GU's Fernandez-Powell was on the delivery of a corner into the box where Emma Davis drilled the ball into the goal to make it 3-0.
- Georgetown tallied 28 shots with 13 being on goal to Seton Hall's two on goal, five in total.
- The Pirates tested the Hoya backline but were only able to force Allie Augur to make one good save on the game and the score remained 3-0 through the full 90 minutes.
