WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's volleyball team closed out the home portion of its 2022 schedule with a 3-0 (25-16, 25-21, 25-16) loss to visiting Butler on Sunday afternoon. The Hoyas fall to 4-23 overall and 2-14 in league play while the Bulldogs improve to 14-14 overall and 8-8 in BIG EAST play.
 
Hoya Highlights

• Peyton Wilhite led Georgetown with eight kills while Giselle Williams added seven and Brennan Wilhite chipped in six.
• Both Chanelle Smith and Mary Grace Goyena tallied five kills.
• Emma Plutnicki posted a double-double with 28 assists to go with 12 digs.
• Defensively, Karis Park hauled in 18 digs.
• At the net, Smith led the Blue & Gray with five blocks while Peyton Wilhite was credited with three.

Butler Notes

• Mariah Grunze, Amina Shackelford and Megan Sheridan each had 13 kills to lead the Bulldogs.
• Cora Taylor posted a double-double with 33 assists and 12 digs.
• Jaymeson Kinley hauled in a match-high 20 digs.
• Maris Guisti led all players with six blocks.

The Hoyas close out the 2022 season on the road this upcoming weekend, playing at Seton Hall on Friday and at St. John's on Sunday.
