Swimming & Diving to Square Off with Fordham on Saturday

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University swimming & diving team will head to the Big Apple to face Fordham on Saturday, November 5 with a 1 p.m. start.

HOYA NOTES
  • The Hoyas swept their dual meet with Villanova last week with the women's team earning its first win against the Wildcats in program history (161-139).
  • Erin Hood picked up her first BIG EAST Women's Athlete of the Week following three individual wins in the 200 IM with a BIG EAST-leading time of 2:05.30, the 200 breast (2:19.64 - 2nd) and the 100 breast (1:05.21 - 3rd). Freshman Alex Breuer also captured second-place finishes in all three events as well.
  • The men's team secured its third decisive win in as many weeks, knocking off Nova 200-94 behind 13 combined wins and five podium sweeps.
  • Additionally, the men's side has tallied 12 or more total wins and has scored 200 points or more in each of their last three competitions.

MEET NOTES
  • Last season, the men's team picked up the win against Fordham (199-94) while the women fell to the Rams at McCarthy Pool (198-96).
  • The Blue & Gray put together a spectacular performance on the board as all three Hoyas on the men's side broke the school record in the event. Kyle Maziarz ended up on top with a score of 326.1, followed by Joseph Hofman with 323.85 and Charlie Reichle with 314.77.
  • The women's team will look to capture their first win over the Rams after a pair of setbacks.
