WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's volleyball team plays a pair of BIG EAST matches this week, travelling to Villanova on Thursday before hosting Butler on Sunday for the 2022 home finale.

About the Hoyas
- Georgetown (4-21, 2-12 BIG EAST) is coming off a pair of road losses in league play. The Hoyas fell 3-0 to both then-No. 17 Marquette and DePaul.
- Mary Grace Goyena leads the Hoyas with 2.97 kills per set while Giselle Williams and Ruth Kayongo add 2.55 and 2.00 kps, respectively.
- Emma Plutnicki paces the offense with 7.51 assists per set while Lilly Costigan averages 7.18 aps.
- Defensively, four Hoyas average at least two digs a frame led by Karis Park with 4.16 digs per set. Plutnicki adds 2.42 dps while both Jessica Cusi and Goyena are good for 2.03 dps.
- At the net, Chanelle Smith averages 1.01 blocks per set while Brennan Wilhite adds 0.76 bps.
Scouting Villanova
- Thursday's match at the Wildcats is the final midweek showdown of the year for the Hoyas and is set for 7 p.m.
- Villanova is 7-19 on the season and 3-13 in BIG EAST play. The Wildcats also dropped a pair of 3-0 matches at Marquette and DePaul over the weekend.
- Rose Crist leads Villanova with 2.83 kills per set while Riley Homer and Kiera Booth at 2.53 and 2.42 kps, respectively.
- Andrea Campos and Belle Morgan combine for 12.07 assists per set with Campos leading the way with 6.17 aps.
- Defensively, Elizabeth Feczko anchors the back row with 3.44 digs per set while Booth is the top threat at the net with 0.77 bps.
- Georgetown and Villanova met on the Hilltop in October, a 3-1 Hoya victory. Peyton Wilhite led the Hoyas with 14 kills while Booth had 19 kills for the Wildcats.
Scouting Butler
- Sunday's match with the Bulldogs is set for 1 p.m.
- Butler is 13-13 on the season and 7-7 in BIG EAST play. The Bulldogs play at Villanova on Saturday before coming to the Nation's Capital.
- Mariah Grunze leads Butler with 3.33 kills per set while Cora Taylor paces the offense with 9.42 aps.
- Defensively, Jaymeson Kinley averages 5.39 digs a set while Marisa Guisi is the top threat at the net with 1.09 bps.
- Georgetown and Butler met in Indianapolis in October with the Bulldogs winning 3-1. Williams led the Hoyas with 11 kills while Amina Shackelford had 14 for Butler.
