Georgetown Travels to DePaul on Sunday

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's basketball team will return to BIG EAST play and travel to Chicago, Illinois to face the DePaul University Blue Demons on Sunday evening at Wintrust Arena. Tipoff is slated for 6 p.m. ET on the BIG EAST Digital Network on FloSports.

About the Hoyas
  • The Hoyas (7-3) went 2-0 in nonconference play this past weekend to make it three in a row for the Blue & Gray.
  • Georgetown defeated Fairleigh Dickinson 74-60 on Friday, before downing Navy 74-47 at home on Sunday.
  • Against Navy, sophomore Briana Scott led the way with a career-high 22 points including a 4-5 performance from beyond the arc, while junior Kelsey Ransom scored 15 and freshman Kennedy Fauntleroy had 10 to round out those in double figures.
  • Ransom led the Hoyas with eight rebounds, adding five assists and a season-high four steals.
  • Senior Graceann Bennett had a great all-around performance, scoring eight points, adding six rebounds as well as two blocks and a season-high two steals.
  • The Hoyas shot 45.8% (27-59) from the field and 47.4% (9-19) from beyond the arc, while allowing 40.0% (18-45) shooting by the Midshipmen.
  • Fauntleroy is leading the Hoyas in scoring with 11.5 ppg as well as 24 steals so far this season.
  • Georgetown will play three conference games and four games total before the new year.
About the Blue Demons
  • DePaul (8-3) comes into Sunday's contest on a four-game win streak, and has won seven of its last eight overall.
  • In their last matchup, the Blue Demons took down Howard University, 81-56, shooting 45.2% (33-73) while holding the Bison to 30.4% (21-69) from the field.
  • The Blue Demons were led by the duo of Darrione Rogers, who led the squad with 22 points, and Jorie Allen, who added in 21 points. Kendall Holmes and Anaya Peoples also chipped in, scoring 17 and 10 points, respectively.
  • Sophomore Aneesah Morrow was been named BIG EAST Player of the Week for the fourth time in her career on Monday
  • Morrow currently is the Division I scoring leader, averaging 28.5 points per game to go along with 12.6 rebounds per game which is good for fourth nationally
  • Against Northwestern last Saturday Morrow scored 45 points and shattered DePaul's single-game scoring benchmark that stood for 31 years, while tying Iowa's Caitlin Clark for the most points in a game this season.

  • These two squads will match up for the 31st time on Sunday, with the Blue Demons holding a 27-3 record all time against the Hoyas.
  • In their last matchup, the Hoyas lost a nail-biter to DePaul in double overtime by a score of 105-104 at McDonough Arena.
  • In the game, Ransom led the way with a career-high 29 points to go along with nine boards and three steals. This performance also marked the first 100-point game for the Hoyas since defeating Mount St. Mary's 104-80 on November 24, 1998.
