Georgetown Travels to Seton Hall on Wednesday

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's basketball team will travel to Seton Hall University on Wednesday for a BIG EAST Conference matchup against the Pirates at Walsh Gymnasium. The opening tip is scheduled for 7 p.m.

About the Hoyas
  • Georgetown (7-10, 2-7 BIG EAST) is coming off of a big 78-62 victory over the Butler University Bulldogs on Sundat at McDonough Arena which snapped a losing streak for the Hoyas.
  • Against Butler, graduate student Mary Clougherty led the way with 24 points, including four 3-pointers. It tied her career high and was her first start on the Hilltop.
  • Freshman Brianna Scott managed a career-best 15 points to go along with a squad-high nine boards and two steals.
  • Graduate student Milan Bolden-Morris rounded out those in double figures with 14 points to her credit.
  • Graduate student Kaylin West had a good day from the point with a career-best 13 assists as well as four steals.
  • The Hoyas shot 44.4 percent (32-72) from the field and allowed 41.8 percent (23-55) shooting by the Bulldogs. Georgetown outrebounded Butler, 37-35, and the GU defense forced 19 Bulldog turnovers.
  • For her efforts last week, Bolden-Morris was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll. She averaged 17.3 ppg to go along with 6.7 rpg and 4.3 3-point field goals per game.
  • The Hoyas boast two players in double figures for the season as Bolden-Morris leads the way with 13.8 ppg. Sophomore Kelsey Ransom has 12.6 ppg, while senior Jillian Archer and junior Graceann Bennett round out the top four averaging 9.0 and 7.6 ppg, respectively.
  • Archer is also pulling down a squad-best 7.4 rpg.
  • Wednesday's game will be the first in a pair of road contests for the Hoyas before facing the Pirates again at home on February 9.
  • February 2 is National Girls and Women in Sports Day and the Hoyas will recognize it by wearing shirts with the Celebration of Georgetown Women logo.
About the Pirates
  • Seton Hall is 8-10 on the season and 3-7 in BIG EAST Conference play.
  • The Pirates have lost their last three with the last win coming on January 19 against St. John's.
  • Most recently, the squad fell to DePaul 85-65 on Sunday at Walsh Gymnasium.
  • Senior Sidney Cooks led the way with a career-high 32 points to go with 10 rebounds and seven blocks.
  • Lauren Park-Lane leads the team averaging 16.7 ppg, and she is followed by Andra Espinoza-Hunter who is scoring 14.9 ppg.
  • Cooks is right behind with 13.9 ppg to go along with a squad-high 7.3 rpg.

  • The Hoyas are 29-41 all-time against the Pirates and 9-21 on the road.
  • The last meeting at Walsh was a tough 79-72 loss a season ago.
  • The last victory over SHU was a 51-43 triumph at home during the 2018-19 season.
