How it Happened

  • American came back with two of its own, but Gebhardt, graduate student Erin Bakes and senior Ali Diamond all scored as Georgetown led 13-7 at the end of the first half.
  • The Eagles would not mount a comeback as the Hoya defense locked down and the offense went to work in the third quarter.
  • Georgetown outscored American 4-1 in the third as the Blue & Gray took control with the 17-8 advantage.
  • The fourth quarter was much of the same as Geist scored her fourth of the contest followed by goals from Bakes and sophomore Neely Holt on the assist from Geist making the final 20-8.
