VILLANOVA, Pa. – Despite a career night from captain
Donald Carey with 24 points, the Georgetown University's men's basketball team (6-20, 0-15 BE) fell 74-66 to the No. 10/10 Villanova University Wildcats (21-6, 14-3 BE) at Finneran Pavilion on Saturday night.

HOYA HIGHLIGHTS
- Carey logged his 15th-straight game in double figures, scoring a game-high 24 points on 9-of-13 shooting from the field. The 24 points eclipsed the previous best (23P) he set earlier this season against St. John's (Feb. 4). He matched a personal best with five treys and Saturday night was the fifth time this year the graduate student has hit the 20-point plateau in a game. The Hoya captain finished with four boards, four assists and a pair of steals.
- Dante Harris added 16 points on 6-of-13 shooting and a pair of triples to go along with four assists and three rebounds.
- Aminu Mohammed led the Blue & Gray on the glass with eight boards.
- Georgetown shot 42.9% from the floor (24-56) to go along with eight made treys while allowing 43.6% (24-55) shooting for the 'Cats.
- GU outscored Villanova off of turnovers (19-12) while matching the Wildcats with 12 assists.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Carey scored the first Hoya points before Kaiden Rice hit a jumper to cut the Villanova lead to three, 7-4 (14:41).
- After a 9-2 stretch for the Wildcats (9:31), Georgetown responded with a 13-3 run, featuring a pair of triples from Carey to trail by one, 19-18 (4:14).
- Ryan Mutombo scored the final four Hoya points to trail at the half, 32-22.
- Carey hit a triple sandwiched between a pair of treys from Harris to open the second, cutting its deficit to four, 35-31 (17:31).
- The Hoyas knocked the Nova advantage down to as little as three following five answered points (14:20), but the Wildcats went on a 10-2 run to take a 53-42 lead.
- Georgetown fought back and made it a one-possession game with Carey scoring five during the team's 11-3 run (56-53, 8:23).
- Villanova pulled away down the stretch before knocking off the Hoyas, 74-66.
