Georgetown Hosts Seton Hall on Wednesday

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's basketball team will host the Seton Hall University Pirates on Wednesday evening at McDonough Arena. The opening tip is scheduled for 7 p.m. The game was rescheduled from its original January 2 date due to COVID-19 issues.

About the Hoyas
  • Georgetown (7-12, 2-9 BIG EAST) is coming off of a tough 76-57 loss at Villanova on Sunday afternoon.
  • Graduate student Milan Bolden-Morris led the way with 14 points, while senior Jillian Archer and sophomore Kelsey Ransom were also in double figures with 11 and 10 points, respectively.
  • Ransom led GU with five boards and four assists, while Bolden-Morris added three steals to her stat line.
  • The Hoyas shot 41.5 percent (22-53) from the field but allowed 43.1 percent (28-65) shooting by the Wildcats. Georgetown was outrebounded by Villanova, 46-27, and the GU defense forced 13 Wildcat turnovers.
  • The Hoyas boast two players in double figures for the season as Bolden-Morris leads the way with 13.3 ppg. Ransom has 12.2 ppg, while Archer and junior Graceann Bennett round out the top four averaging 8.8 and 7.6 ppg, respectively.
  • Archer is also pulling down a squad-best 6.6 rpg.
  • This will be GU's second meeting with Seton Hall in a week's time. The squads met in South Orange, New Jersey on February 2.
About the Pirates
  • Seton Hall is 11-10 on the season and 6-7 in BIG EAST Conference play.
  • The Pirates have won their last three beginning with the contest against GU.
  • Most recently, the squad defeated Butler 72-56 at Hinkle Fieldhouse on Sunday afternoon.
  • Andra Espinoza-Hunter led the way with 21 points and seven rebounds as one of five players to reach double figures.
  • Lauren Park-Lane leads the team averaging 16.5 ppg, and she is followed by Espinoza-Hunter who is scoring 16.0 ppg.
  • Sidney Cooks is right behind with 13.7 ppg to go along with a squad-high 7.3 rpg.
Series History
  • The Hoyas are 29-42 all-time against the Pirates and 19-15 at home.
  • The last meeting was a 91-62 setback at Walsh Gymnasium last Wednesday.
  • In that game, the Pirates hit 19 3-pointers, including 12 in the first half, to pull away.
  • Graduate student Mary Clougherty and freshman Brianna Scott led the way for Georgetown with 11 and 10 points, respecitvely.
  • The last victory over SHU was a 51-43 triumph at home during the 2018-19 season.
