FAIRFAX, Va. – The Georgetown University baseball team took down the George Mason University Patriots, 5-4, at Spuhler Stadium on Wednesday afternoon. The Hoyas jumped to 10-6 on the season while the Patriots fell to 7-9.

HOYA HIGHLIGHTS
- Michael Eze went 2-for-4 with a run scored and a pair of RBIs on Wednesday.
- Carter Bosch picked up his second win of the season, going five innings and allowing just one run on six hits with one strikeout.
- Evan Blum also put forth a two-hit performance, adding an RBI to his final line.
- Ethan Stern reached base safely for the 16th-straight contest, going 2-for-5 with a tally and an RBI.
- Cam Meyer rounded out those with multiple hits on the afternoon with a pair of base knocks with a run scored.
- Ayden Head, Carson Frye and Anthony Redfern allowed a combined four hits in three innings of work.
- Angelo Tonas picked up his third save of the season, allowing no hits in the ninth.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After a trio of scoreless innings to start the game, the Hoyas loaded the bases before Eze delivered a two-run single just past the outstretched glove of the shortstop to give GU a 2-0 edge.
- George Mason cut the Georgetown lead in half with a one-run fourth (2-1).
- The Blue & Gray scored again in the fifth on a Blum infield single to beat the shift and pushed the advantage back to two (3-1).
- The Hoyas put two more on the board in the sixth with a Stern RBI single and Meyer scoring on a wild pitch to take a 5-1 lead.
- The Patriots scored one run in the home half of the sixth and seventh, slashing its deficit to two (5-3).
- George Mason threatened with runners on in the bottom of the ninth, scoring one run before Nolan Matsko made a diving catch in right and doubled up the runner on second to knock off the Patriots (5-4).
