WASHINGTON – After being down by as many as four runs, the Georgetown University baseball team erased its deficit with seven unanswered runs, downing host Maryland Eastern Shore, 9-7, and extending its winning streak to four games on Wednesday afternoon.
"What a great win tonight after being down in the middle part of the game. Our guys came back out and found a way to win when it didn't look great.
Anthony Redfern was the story of the game after
Carter Bosch gave us a solid start.
Ayden Head worked us out of bases-loaded trouble in the eighth and was awesome for two innings. Great win and we're looking forward to playing at home this weekend." - Head Coach
Edwin Thompson on today's victory

- The Hawks (0-8) responded with one run in the third and two in the fourth to take a 3-1 edge.
- Georgetown cut its deficit to one (3-2) after Dapkewicz doubled, swiped third and crossed the plate on a Hyde groundout for his second tally of the afternoon.

- The comeback began in the sixth when Ubaldo Lopez smacked his second homer in as many days with a two-run shot and cut the Hoya deficit in half, 6-4.
- Following an Ethan Stern RBI single in the seventh (6-5), GU rallied with two outs in the eighth and unloaded a four-spot on UMES. Michael Eze smacked an RBI single (8-6) and then swiped both second and third before scoring on an error (9-6).
- The Hawks were threatening with runners on the corners when Ayden Head came on in relief in the bottom of the eighth. After a strikeout to Derrick Mayes, the Hoya newcomer loaded the bases with a walk, but he locked in after the free pass, forcing a pop out to second before punching out the next batter to end the Hawk opportunity.
