INDIANAPOLIS - The Georgetown University baseball team dropped an 8-7 contest at Butler on Friday evening. GU fell to 21-14 overall and 3-5 in BIG EAST play while the Bulldogs moved to 16-19 on the year with a 2-3 conference record.

HOYA HIGHLIGHTS
- Jake Hyde hit his 14th home run of the year, tying Ubaldo Lopez for the team lead. Hyde also tied Lopez for second-all time for most homers in a single season.
- Christian Ficca and Andrew Ciufo registered two hits apiece, combining for a pair of walks, two RBIs and two runs scored.
- Owen Carapellotti drove in two runs on the afternoon while Ciufo, Lopez and Evan Blum tallied one RBI each.
- Six different Hoyas registered one tally on Friday evening.
- Ayden Head dominated in his three innings of work out of pen, allowing just one hit and striking out two.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After the Hoyas executed a hit-and-run to put runners on the corners in the opening frame, Ficca and Ciufo smacked back-to-back RBI singles to go up by two (2-0). Carapellotti slapped a double off the center field wall and lifted the Hoyas to a 4-0 edge.
- In the top of the second, Hyde drilled a 2-2 pitch over the right field wall for a 5-0 lead.
- Butler stormed back in the bottom of the third inning to take a 6-5 advantage.
- The Hoyas countered in the top of the fourth when Lopez laced a single to left and Keith Savoy Jr. slid hard into home, forcing the ball out of the catcher's glove and tying the game at six.
- In the home half of the fourth, the Bulldogs reclaimed the lead (7-6) on a solo shot.
- Both teams were held off the board until Butler tacked on one more in the bottom of the sixth (8-6).
- Blum smacked his second homer of the season, hitting a solo jack to cut the Hoya deficit in half in the seventh before Butler closed the door in the final two frames (8-7).

Georgetown will return to action for the final game of the series against Butler on Saturday, April 16 with first pitch slated for 11:30 a.m.
