WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University baseball team toppled George Washington 3-1 behind nine pitchers holding the opposition to four combined hits at Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy on Tuesday evening. GU jumped to 24-17 overall while the Colonials dropped to 19-21 on the season.

HOYA HIGHLIGHTS
- The group of Andrew Williams, Andrew DeRoche, Garret Keough, Connor Udell, Michael Willis, Miller Freeman, Kyle Salley, Carson Frye and Ayden Head tossed one inning apiece, collectively holding the Colonials to four hits and two walks while striking out 12.
- Frye, Head, Keough, Udell and Williams all struck out two batters in their respective innings of work.
- Jake Hyde tied teammate Ubaldo Lopez for the team lead in home runs, smacking his 16th of the season. The Hoya right fielder went 2-for-5 with a pair of RBIs.
- Evan Blum drove in a run while hitting 1-for-2 on the day.
- Tony Barreca went 2-for-2 at the plate with a walk and a run scored.
- Nolan Matsko registered his first multi-hit game of the season, going 2-for-3 at the dish.
- Owen Carapellotti, Christian Ficca and Peter Marren all tallied a base knock while Carapellotti scored once.
- Keough picked up his second win of the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Colonials scored one in the top of the second to take an early 1-0 lead.
- Following a leadoff single by Barreca in the third, Hyde launched a two-run shot to right center, giving the Hoyas a 2-1 edge.
- Through five innings of work, the Hoya staff managed seven strikeouts and allowed just three total baserunners to keep GW off balance.
- Blum drove a single through the right side in the fifth, boosting the GU lead to two (3-1).
- George Washington never found its footing against the Hoyas, failing to move a runner past second base through the final four frames. Head came on in the ninth to close the door for his second save of the season.

Georgetown will welcome Seton Hall to Prince George's Stadium, home of the Bowie Baysox, for a three-game BIG EAST series beginning on Friday, April 29. First pitch is slated for 6 p.m.
