WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's golf team currently sits in a tie for 11th with a team score of 13-over-par 297 in the first round of the Golfweek Fall Challenge. The three-round tournament is being held at the Caledonia Golf & Fish Club on a par-71, 6,026-yard course in Pawleys Island, South Carolina. In her first outing as a Hoya, freshman
Angela Lee carded a 1-under-par 70.
ABOUT THE HOYAS
- Lee leads the Blue & Gray with her 1-under-par 70 on the day to sit in a tie with eight others for eighth place. Lee started on the back nine (37) but two birdies on the front nine (33) propelled her among the top 10 on the individual leaderboard.
- Junior Megan Gormley carded a 1-over-par 72 in the first round. Following a 37 on the back nine, Gormley's even-par 35 on the front put in her a tie for 21st place.
- Gabriella Gilrowski shot a 6-over-par 77 (40 back, 37 front) and birdied on the final hole of the day.
- Lauren May put up a score of 7-over-par 78 (40 back, 38 front) while Elena Zheng carded a 10-over-par 81 (42 back, 39 front) to open the first round. The duo is currently tied for 78th and 97th, respectively.
