WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's volleyball team dropped its first match of the weekend against UC Santa Barbara 3-0 (25-18, 25-23, 25-23) on Friday night in California. The Hoyas fall to 2-8 overall while the Gauchos improve to 3-6.
 
Hoya Highlights

• Mary Grace Goyena led the Hoyas with 11 kills while Chanelle Smith and Brennan Wilhite both had four.
• Lilly Costigan recorded 23 assists and added three service aces.
• Defensively, Karis Park hauled in 14 digs while Ellie Watkins and Giselle Williams both had four.
• At the net, the Hoyas outblocked UCSB 6-4 behind three rejections from Smith and two each from Goyena and Peyton Wilhite.

UCSB Notes

• Tallulah Froley led the Gauchos with 13 kills.
• Mehana Ma'a and Megan Shimoda combined for 33 assists.
• Michelle Ohwobete and Macall Peed each collected 12 digs in the win.
