WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University swimming & diving team will head across the District to take on Howard University in the sold out "Battle at the Burr" dual meet on Saturday afternoon, beginning at 1 p.m.

HOYA NOTES
- Georgetown and Howard are meeting for the second-straight season. The Blue & Gray swept last year's competition as the men's squad topped the Bison 113.50-91.50 while the women's squad won 123.50-80.50.
- In last year's event, Kyle Maziarz broke Georgetown's all-time record in the 1-meter dive with a score of 306.75.
- GU put forth a solid performance in its season opener at the Potomac Relays on Friday afternoon, medaling in 17 of 18 events and picking up four wins with nine second-place marks.
- Wynter Bramao and Lizzy Durgin went 1-2 in both diving events last weekend, being separated by .35 points in the 1m (236.75 - 236.40) and 3.25 points in the 3m (234.70 - 231.45).
MEET NOTES
- The attendance for the Saturday's meet is expected to reach its capacity of 2,000 people and surpass the attendance numbers (1,500+) at the 2014 meet between the University of California-Berkeley and the University of Arizona.
- Invited guests from the swim and dive world elite include Georgetown's Honorary Coach, Katie Meili, Olympic Bronze Medalist, Howard's Honorary Coach Maritza McClendon, Olympic Silver Medalist; Joel Shinofield, Managing Director for Sport Development at USA Swimming; Elizabeth Biesel, Olympic Bronze Medalist; Samantha Barany, Executive Director of the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America.
- Howard Head Coach Nick Askew entered his eighth season with the Bison and is expected to be inducted into the university's Athletics Hall of Fame this weekend.
