Box Score WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's volleyball team captured a hard-fought 3-2 (19-25, 25-23, 25-12, 19-25, 16-14) win in five sets over Seton Hall to earn its first BIG EAST win of the season. After a back-and-forth battle, the Hoyas improve their conference record to 1-2.
"Tonight was a super gritty win for our team," said Head Coach
David Heller. " They were really focused after last weekend and wanted to become better at our side-out game. It really showed in set three when we were at 90%. It was great to see them apply so many things we worked on this week in practice. We had a lot of people contribute at the service line tonight. It allowed our defense to get set up and score a lot of points. Several of our servers really got into a groove back there and it was just comfortable. Our block continues to be a bright spot for this team. Our pins helped side us out of some jams and it was so great to see us earn the five set victory by playing some really good volleyball. Karis and Jess really anchored our passing and defense. Mary Grace, Giselle and Peyton took some big swings for us when we needed them. Brennan and Chanelle were really consistent for us in the middle and Emma ran a great offense for us tonight. Our bench stayed engaged and helped all of our athletes tonight. Truly a team win. I'm really proud of them."
