WASHINGTON – Freshman Jack Panayotou was named the BIG EAST Freshman of the Week on Monday when the BIG EAST Conference announced its weekly awards. This is Panayotou's first honor of the season as well as the first for the Hoyas.

BIG EAST Freshman of the Week

• Appearing in his third collegiate outing, Panayotou gave the Hoyas (1-1-2) a three-goal cushion in the opening half and provided the game-winning goal in a 5-2 win over Temple Friday afternoon.
• In the 30th minute, Panayotou collected a rebound and buried a shot past the Temple goalie to register his first collegiate goal.
• In the 88th minute, he helped put the game away when he found Ronan Dillow in space, as the sophomore scored the Hoyas' fifth and final goal of the contest.
• This is his first-career weekly award and the first for the Blue & Gray this season.
