WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University track & field program competed in the Nittany Lion Challenge Saturday at Penn State University.
Eni Akinniyi finished first in the triple jump with a jump of 12.16m. This is Akinniyi's second first-place finish this indoor season.
ON THE RECORD
"Overall, we had some decent performances coming off the winter break and rebooting our Indoor Season. On the Men's side I felt
Matt Rizzo competed well, running 1:19.56 in his first 600m is great effort. Marlon and Rusty stepped down from their usual longer distances to run impressive for the mile. Freshman Nick Givan was also impressive in the 600m and came back to run an exceptional leg on the 4x4. Chris Pitt's consistent series in the long jump should lead to big jumps later this season.
For our women, Eni continued her winning ways in the triple jump, and we are looking forward to big jumps from her this season. Maya and Jadah also ran well to win their heats of the 400m. Pippa's transitioning from XC and her performance in the 1K should propel her to progress throughout the Indoor Season.
We're looking forward to building from this meet and getting better as the season progresses." - Director of Cross Country/Track & Field
