WASHINGTON – Georgetown track & field wrapped up the 2026 BIG EAST Indoor Championships presented by Jeep on Saturday as 13 Hoyas medaled and three runners brought event titles back to the Hilltop. The women's indoor team finished fifth with 56 points, while the men placed sixth with 70 points scored.
"Conference Championships are always challenging, but particularly when you're not at full strength as a team due to injuries. However, that challenge can present opportunities to test the grit and determination of your team, and both our men & women stepped up to deliver several significant performances. Highlighted by a new Big East Conference Championship record in the mile by
Charlotte Tomkinson, running 3:34.77. Also saw a tremendous effort by
Barrett Justema to win the 3K and the day prior, bringing her team from far behind to almost secure a medal in the DMR. On the men's side, I must acknowledge the brave running from Quinn Parrsh, finishing second in the 5K, along with
Birhanu Harriman's third-place finish in the 5K & 3K. Both doubled and contributed significantly to the men's point total. Also, a big congrats and great display of racing by
Tinoda Matsatsa to secure his 2nd consecutive Big East Title in the 800m. Overall, great team effort; was proud to see our team come together and compete hard for all the relays contested. We look forward to an even better showing at the Conference meet come Outdoor Season with our full lineup healthy and ready to go." - Head Coach
Alton McKenzie
