Georgetown to Host DePaul on Wednesday

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's basketball team will host the DePaul University Blue Demons on Wednesday at McDonough Arena in a BIG EAST Conference matchup. The opening tip is slated for 7 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on the BIG EAST Digital Network on FloSports with Jeremy Huber and Monika Moore calling the action.

About the Hoyas
  • Georgetown (8-9, 1-7 BIG EAST) fell 65-50 to the No. 4/4 UConn Huskies in Hartford, Connecticut on Sunday.
  • The Hoyas trailed by just one at the half, but a tough third quarter allowed the Huskies to pull away.
  • Sophomore Brianna Scott led the way as the lone Hoya in double figures with 11 points and seven rebounds.
  • Freshman Kennedy Fauntleroy added nine points, three assists and three steals, while junior Kelsey Ransom was active on defense managing five steals in the contest.
  • The Hoyas shot 32.2% (19-59) from the field, while allowing 41.3% (19-46) shooting by the Huskies. The difference was in 22 free throws made by UConn.
  • The Hoyas were outrebounded 40-29, but forced 23 Husky turnovers on 11 steals.
  • Fauntleroy is the BIG EAST's top-scoring freshman at 11.5 points per game, including 13.3 in conference play.

About the Blue Demons
  • DePaul is 11-7 on the season and 4-3 in BIG EAST Conference play.
  • Aneesah Morrow landed on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for the sixth time this season.
  • Morrow pushed her double-double tally to 14 on the season. In a dropped decision to No. 25 Villanova on Wednesday, she finished with a team-high 28 points and 11 rebounds, in Sunday's rout of the Musketeers, Morrow netted 15 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.
  • Morrow is averaging 25.6 points per game which ranks fourth nationally while collecting 11.9 rebounds per game to land in fifth among Division I players. Her 14 double-doubles is good for third nationally.
Series Information
  • The Hoyas are 3-28 all-time against the Blue Demons and 1-12 at home.
  • The last meeting was a 80-71 setback in Chicago at Wintrust Arena earlier this season. In that game, Georgetown boasted all five starters in double figures as graduate student Kristina Moore led the way with 16 points, while Ransom had 13 and both Fauntleroy and junior Jada Claude had 12. Senior Graceann Bennett rounded it out with 10 points to her credit.
  • The last home meeting came a season ago as GU fell in a devastating 105-104 double overtime loss.
  • The Hoyas led for much of the game, but after two overtime periods it was DePaul that scraped by with the victory.
  • Ransom led the way with a career-high 29 points to go along with nine boards and three steals.
  • The lone home victory in the series was a 74-65 win during the 2009-10 campaign.
