No. 12/7 Georgetown Travels to Princeton on Tuesday

WASHINGTON – The No. 12/7 Georgetown University men's soccer team will travel to New Jersey to take on the Princeton University Tigers in a nonconference matchup at Myslik Field on Monday evening. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. Additionally on Monday, a pair of Hoyas were named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll when awards were announced. Maximus Jennings and Marlon Tabora were both recognized for their efforts in a 5-0 victory over Butler on Friday.

About the Hoyas
  • Georgetown is sitting at 5-1-1 overall and 3-0 in BIG EAST Conference play after coming off of a 5-0 victory against Butler at Shaw Field on Friday afternoon.
  • In the win, the Hoyas boasted five different goal scorers including both Jennings and Tabora. Along with a goal, Tabora also managed a pair of assists while Jennings and the backline tallied the shutout.
  • This is the fourth and fifth honor roll nod for the Hoyas this season and the second for Jennings who earned recognition on September 5.
  • Tabora has had one previous honor roll award in his career on the Hilltop to go along with a pair of offensive player of the week honors.
  • Georgetown is led by sophomore Jacob Murrell with seven goals and three assists for 17 points on the season. Senior Kyle Linhares has three goals and two assists for the year with eight points to his credit. Junior defender Kieran Sargeant is in third with six points on six assists this season. Matching his point total is Zach Zengue with three goals on the year.
  • Murrell is leading the league in a number of categories including goals per game (0.88), total goals and total points. His four game winners are ranked second in the nation.
  • Sergeant is ranked seventh in the country with his six assists leading the BIG EAST.
  • In goal, Ryan Schewe has played a majority of the minutes with 10 saves and a 1.17 goals-against average for the year. His first shutout came in the Seton Hall win and Butler made it two.
  • Tenzing Manske has appeared in two games and has four saves to go along with a 2.50 goals-against average and one shutout.
About the Tigers
  • Princeton is 3-3-1 on the season and coming off of a 1-1 tie against Yale on Saturday.
  • Will Francis scored the tying goal in the 84th minute to get the draw for the Tigers.
  • Princeton has wins over Rutgers (2-1), St. John's (3-2) and Monmouth (4-1) this season.
  • Daniel Ittycheria ranks 17th in the country in goals per game and leads the team with five goals and one assist for 11 points this season.
