WASHINGTON – On the final day of competition at the St Andrews Links Collegiate, the Georgetown University women's golf team competed in a medal match on the par-72, 6,194-yard Old Course. In the six matchups, the Hoyas tallied a pair of wins and one tie, falling to Notre Dame (3 wins) in the third-place matchup with a President's Cup-style format.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Morgan Smith won her matchup as she shot a 6-over 78, besting her opponent by a pair of strokes.
- Vilda Westh Blanc tallied the other win for the Hoyas as the freshman went 7-over 79 in the round, inching out her opponent by one stroke.
- Angela Lee carded the lowest score of the day for the Blue & Gray at 4-over 76 to finish in a tie against her opponent.
- Jiaying Lai managed a 12-over 84 on the day and was two strokes behind her opponent.
- Georgia Ruffolo went 5-over 77, but with her opponent shooting an efficient 2-over 74, Ruffolo couldn't get the point.
- Megan Gormley went 9-over 81 in the course, falling to her counterpart to give the Irish the point.
