Hoyas to Face Waves and Titans in West Coast Swing

MALIBU, Calif. – The Georgetown University women's basketball team traveled to Los Angeles this week and will face a pair of opponents for its West Coast swing. The Hoyas will battle the Pepperdine University Waves on Friday at 9 p.m. EST (6 p.m. local time) at Firestone Fieldhouse. On Sunday, the squad will face the Cal State Fullerton Titans at Titan Gym at 7 p.m. EST (2 p.m. local time).

About the Hoyas
  • Georgetown is coming off of a 60-45 victory over FDU Knights at McDonough Arena on Sunday afternoon.
  • Senior Kelsey Ransom led the way with 12 points, seven rebounds, six assists and four steals for another all-around performance.
  • The Hoyas boasted balanced scoring with nine players registering a point in the victory.
  • Graduate student Graceann Bennett and junior Brianna Scott were both second with nine points, while graduate student Alex Cowan added eight.
  • Scott also pulled down six rebounds in the contest, while Bennett had five.
  • The Hoyas shot 39.3% (24-61) from the field, and the Blue & Gray allowed 25.0% (11-44) shooting by the Knights.
  • GU outrebounded FDU 38-35 in the game, and Georgetown forced 21 Knight turnovers on 10 steals.
  • Ransom leads the Hoyas in every category averaging 14.8 ppg as well as 8.3 rpg. She also has 17 assists and 11 steals on the year.

About the Waves
  • Pepperdine is 2-4 on the season with wins over UC Irvine (63-58) and Caltech (79-42).
  • The Waves have lost their last three and are coming off of a 63-47 loss at Boise State on Monday. It was the third in a three-game road swing for the squad.
