WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, in conjunction with the Georgetown University Alumni Association, will host the 32nd edition of the Georgetown Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Reception on Friday, February 9, 2024. Six former Hoya student-athletes will be honored at the event.
The inductees include women's basketball All-American Rebekkah W. Brunson ('04), women's soccer standout Elizabeth M. Delgado ('01), men's lacrosse national player of the year Steve P. Dusseau ('02), women's lacrosse Tewaaraton Award winner Erin C. Elbe ('02), men's swimming record holder Christopher P. Lengle ('02) and men's basketball great Michael D. Sweetney ('04).
Event registration will open at 6:00 p.m., and the ceremony will commence at 7:00 p.m. in Lohrfink Auditorium located in the Hariri Building on the Georgetown campus. A dinner reception will immediately follow.
The Athletic Hall of Fame Citation is a University-wide award presented to a graduate of Georgetown or to a coach or administrator who qualifies for recognition on the basis of superior athletic achievement or contribution to athletics at Georgetown. The Georgetown Hall of Fame was established in 1953 and is located in the southwest gallery of the Leavey Student Center on GU's campus. Currently, 308 student-athletes and leaders from the annals of Georgetown Athletics have been enshrined.
