Georgetown Travels to Kennesaw State for Nonconference Finale

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's basketball team will close out nonconference play at Kennesaw State University on Thursday evening at the KSU Convocation Center. The opening tip is scheduled for 7 p.m.

About the Hoyas
  • Georgetown is sitting at 9-2 and coming off of a tough 57-49 loss to Seton Hall on December 20 at McDonough Arena to open BIG EAST Conference play.
  • The Blue & Gray led by as much as 21 points early in the second quarter, but could not maintain the advantage to fall to the Pirates.
  • Junior Brianna Scott led the way for the Hoyas with 15 points to go along with nine rebounds and two blocks.

  • Scott is second on the team with 9.4 ppg as well as 6.9 rpg, while Bennett rounds out the top three with 8.9 ppg along with a team-best 7.4 rpg.

About the Owls
  • Kennesaw State is 4-7 on the season, and coming off of a 53-51 victory over BIG EAST-foe Providence at the West Palm Beach Classic on December 21.
  • The Owls were down by 19 points at one point, but came back to get the victory.
  • Prencis Harden led the way with 23 points and eight rebounds in the win.
  • Harden leads the team in scoring as the lone Owl in double figures averaging 13.5 ppg as well as pulling down 6.1 rpg.
  • The victory over Providence snapped a three-game losing streak for KSU.
