WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's golf team is currently in 16th place following the completion of the second round at the Therese Hession Regional Challenge, a tournament welcoming a field of 16 teams, including 10 ranked among the top 25 in the country, to Palos Verdes Estates, California. Ohio State University is the host of the three-day tournament held at the Palos Verdes Golf Club on a par-71, 6,017-yard course where the Hoyas have posted a two-day team score of 39-over par 607 (303-304).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Megan Gormley and Gabriella Gilrowski are tied for 42nd in the individual standings. Gilrowski had the low card on the day with a 72, including a trio of birdies. She once again opened play on the back nine with a birdie on hole 10. She finished the back nine at 2-under before the front nine gave her some trouble and she closed the round at 1-over with a two-day score of 149 (+7. 77-72).
- Gormley tallied a pair of birdies on the back nine to close the frame at even par. However, setbacks on the front pushed the junior to a two-day score of 149 (+7, 75-74).
- Lauren May was another Hoya who found herself with a pair of birdies on the back nine. With birdies on holes 11 and 18, May closed Monday with a 78 for a two-day score of 13-over-par 155 (T69th).
- Kaitlyn Lees had a rough go at it on the back nine but her play was more consistent in the closing frame as she has a two-round score of 157 (+15, 74-83), tied for 73rd.
- Angela Lee tallied a quartet of birdies on the day, totaling six so far in the tournament, with a pair each on the front and back nine. She sits in a tie for 76th at 17-over 159.
