ON THE RECORD
"What a great college baseball game to open up the 2023 season. The guys just battled all game, we really had such great energy as a group and we just never quit, down 3-1 and bats weren't going but we got them going. We made some good defensive plays all day and we really played well in all three phases but credit to their pitcher. He was awesome and really good for the seven innings I think he went. He was really strong but our guys did a great job. Our pitching staff, Cody Jensen, gave us a great start and Tyler Mead and Jordan Yoder got out there and closed out the game for us in the last four innings. They were electric and gave us a chance and that is all we could ask for. Our offense came up big when they needed to getting guys on base and a big hit by Ubaldo Lopez, Mike Eze, Cam Meyer and Marco to get the sac fly to win. Such a great team win, really proud of our group and looking forward to getting going tomorrow." - Head Coach Edwin Thompson.
