WASHINGTON – Following a consistent two rounds of team play, the Georgetown University women's golf team is currently in 10th place at the Atlantic Invitational, a two-day tournament held in Boynton Beach, Florida. The three-round tournament features a field of 12 teams and is being played on a par-71, 5,840-yard course at the Indian Spring Golf Course.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Gabriella Gilrowski is currently in a tie for fourth place with a 4-under 138 (70-68). The junior moved up seven spots with her 68 in the second round. She tallied 10 birdies on the day with four in the first round and six in the second, including three straight on holes 13, 14 and 15.
- Megan Gormley moved up 17 spots from the first to second rounds with a 1-over 143 (74-69). She totaled six birdies and one eagle over a pair of rounds. She finished 2-under 69 in the second round as her best round of the spring season thus far.
- Kaitlyn Lees is currently tied for 47th with an 8-over 150 (73-77). She tallied five birdies over two rounds to go along with 21 pars.
- Lauren May is four strokes behind Lees with a 12-over 154 (76-78) following two rounds of play. The senior tallied five birdies on the day over the two rounds and added 19 pars.
- Esther Park is in 62nd place with a two-round score of 165 (+23, 85-80). After a rough first round, Park got settled later into the second round, recording a pair of birdies on holes 1 and 5.
