Georgetown Closes Out the Regular Season at St. John’s

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's basketball team will close out the regular season on the road as the Hoyas travel to St. John's University for a BIG EAST Conference matchup at Carnesecca Arena on Friday evening. The opening tip is slated for 7 p.m  The game will be broadcast live on the BIG EAST Digital Network on FloSports.

About the Hoyas
  • Georgetown (13-15, 6-13 BIG EAST) is coming off of a close 73-69 victory over Providence College in GU's home finale on Tuesday evening.
  • Junior captain Kelsey Ransom led the way with 21 points and five assists, while classmate Jada Claude added 16 points and three blocks.
  • Graduate student Kristina Moore tallied 14 points on 5-5 shooting and a squad-best six rebounds in the game, and senior captain Graceann Bennett would score 12.
  • Freshman Kennedy Fauntleroy had six points, but led GU with six rebounds and an impressive nine assists as well as three steals.
  • The Hoyas shot 56.6% (30-53) from the field, and the Blue & Gray allowed 43.6% (24-55) shooting by the Friars.
  • GU was outrebounded by Providence 28-27 in the game, and Georgetown forced 10 Friar turnovers on seven steals.
  • Fauntleroy is the BIG EAST's top-scoring freshman at 11.3 points per game, including 11.9 in conference play, and also ranks third among all BIG EAST players this season with her 2.5 steals per game average.

  • St. John's comes into the matchup at 20-7 on the season and 11-7 in BIG EAST Conference play and is coming off of a huge 69-64 upset of the No. 4/5 UConn Huskies on Tuesday evening.
  • Kadaja Bailey and Danielle Patterson led the charge for the Johnnies' tying for a game-high 20 points apiece.
  • The Red Storm are in a tight race for fourth in the league standings as they sit tied with Marquette with two games to go for both squads.
